I get an SMS on free offers and downloads. And I see an offer – if I buy one pair of shoes I get one pair for free!! This free offer is present in all the nations irrespective of religion and race. And we sure are tempted.

And yet all of us know, nothing is free in this world.

But consider this: While I was in Dubai, during Ramadan the one and only Internet Service Provider of the Government (Etisalat) provided Free Internet Training if you become an user of Internet. Even monopoly business firms have to generate business!! And the offer of one more pair of shoes really thinks that I am a fool. Why should I need an extra pair? Sure the quality or shape/size will not suit me. Have we ever heard of Hospitals running free offer campaigns? Or Schools and Colleges offering discounts to non-merit students? How many of us get free smiles and hugs when we do something excellent in our lives?

Recently the Tamilnadu Government sanctioned Rs.2, 000/- plus 10 kg rice, one dhoti and saree and one litre kerosene for the people affected by floods. And many people who were not affected and in the upper income group claimed the money!! The reason they gave was – if they did not claim someone else would claim!! At least they could have given back the money and goods to the needy!! This really hurt me. Give something Free and see how people behave!!

In fact Adam would not have eaten the Apple if was attached with a price tag!!
