Brain Training takes aging Japan by storm
Young people keep fit by going to Gymnasium and yoga.
But the elders are more fit physically and mentally in Japan by daily doing some simple arithmetic and other quizzes. This has taken Japan by the storm, the shops selling CD’s and books on keeping the mind agile and body automatically takes care of itself. This improves memory.
Video games also play an important role. I still remember the famous DIGGER game on my PC-XT machine. It does not involve much of brain work really. But I slowly optimized the hand-head co-ordination with time and I can challenge no one has beat my record of crossing 1 lakhs points.
All my relatives and friends never even came closer to it except my mother. I was surprised. She is older but she can beat me? Oh! Yes, she did.
No amount of Nintendo, Sony games can match the DIGGER – it’s basic and simple. DIG THE EARTH FOR GOLD!!
( I know, I know. All those XBOX Lovers reading this are going to start a flame war here. Guys come on, am talking of a PC based game in 1980’s that run on a XT machine. XBOX and this ? Bad comparison! )
