Love, Modern Youth, Reality and Original sin by Adam

I heard a lot of real facts about school students (school students) falling in love, eloping and boldly exposing themselves as lovers in public places. Those who are afraid or respect their parents get caught in between.

I have personally witnessed many incidents in Chenna(where I live). I do not say or claim, this is bad. Original Sin as Bible says is never bad according to me. But many people suffer due to Original and other sins.

The concept of Original sin is sinful by itself
        - Dan Brown in The Da Vinci Code

I am not here to talk about that or the Holy Grail, Mary Magdalene, Last Supper, Leonardo Da Vinci, Priori Sion, Louvre in Paris, Vatican, Opus Dei or Crusades. I am worried about the recent trend by youth in my country due to Western Influence and reading. Why not they choose Naipaul, the Nobel Prize winner. It’s all hype and marketing and youths falling for it.

In Love affairs some fight and some lose the battle. Some win and lose the love of parents. It is high time Love is really explained (Physical Love, Lust and Divine). Of course these have happened in all centuries. But there is a difference today - Thanks to Tamil Cinema.

Now my opinion on this:

In my opinion Love has no reason. It is either adolescent mistake, so-called infatuation by psychologists. Glorified as divine in Anarkali in India, Amaravathi in South India and Romeo and Juliet in the West, to mention a few important ones. They became famous not because it was a tragedy, but because of the authors, scripts, dialogues and soliloquies.

Othello the Army General in Roman times was black and ugly. Othello is one of the five famous tragedies by Shakespeare. Yet he succeeded in capturing the most beautiful maid. Cleopatra was Black Beauty and we know the history. She created and demolished many kings and kingdoms by her bewitching beauty.

And take the recent Tamil row of tragedy movies by Selvaragahavam and Bala!! I do not want to go into the detail of the story, star cast and why it captured the young minds.

But I am clear. What was the success due to?

1. `Infatuation
No. (In my opinion). Modern kids are exposed to many media things. They know the meaning of ‘infatuation’ also. But only the meaning in literal sense. Biology is more powerful than literal understanding of the word. And the films, capture and corrupt young minds take advantage of it.

2. Story is good
Many claim this as the reason for recent success of Tamil Love movies.

Ha Ha!! Not at all. Love story has always been there sans beauty, intelligence, parents’ approval, Kings’ disapproval and yet the Love has always been glorified. The Love is basic, irrespective of caste, power, society, parents, kings, and rivalry by other men who love the same woman. And sure there are many stories in the past and present, which are more excellent than the recent ones. It is just a TREND CHANGE in the minds of present youth, and moviemakers capitalize that!!

3. Music is good
Oh. Ok Is Manmatha Raja song is good and accepted by the youth? Or ‘Kathal Rojave’ by A.R Rahman? The music has had it’s own effect at all times in movies and outside the cine world. But the success of recent Tamil films is not due to music, maybe due to the music videos which reflect the cost cutting in the movie budgets in the form of the actresses clothing.

4. College scenes and other scenes are practical and happen in real life!!
To project a single indecent incident in some families to the whole world, corrupt more people. It is an indecency to even talk about it, leave alone showing it in the movie. There have been many private sex-related incidents in our days and in history, but they were not blown up and people were decent enough to forgive and tell the wrongdoers softly that, what they do is not Dharma.

So what is Dharma?
An Old word to create fear of God in Youth? NO. Dharma is about all about NO-FEAR as said by Vivekananda. Dharma is the Magical word for the Youth and us.

Should not the Modern Youth regard this?
In spite of tensions in office and the call for Mediations, Stress Elimination, Personality Development for competing in the present world, by so many Gurus who come to you – how many of you care? The best example - Art Of Living!! I am not promoting this – but the entire Human, Family, Country and World will be at peace when we understand by attending and practicing and not listening to lectures and reading books.

6. Commercial success is important & the story should capture the young minds!! In our times many movies, including Love stories were great hits. But, I challenge, in our times (1950-1980), we never took movies in our lives for the cause of love or any thing!! It was just a movie and entertainment!!

Of course there was Love affairs and Love marriages at that time also, but respect for parents and family was more. In most cases Love was buried. That does not mean we are unhappy!! It was some dream world and now forgotten totally. All of us dream a lot of things than Love. Why don’t the modern youth we go after that?

7. Modern youths feel - Young people are more capable of choosing the loved ones of their choice.

And the elders with experience can rely and understand only with the help of Astrology, Experience that this woman is suitable for that man!! They have no intelligence or reasoning power to understand the Real Love and Mind and the Life of the partners the Young may choose / have already chosen / eloped / fall at the feet like in a movie!

This is really strange as Marriage is the goal of Love. And there are so many things in Life other than Love and Marriage. It is a Holy partnership. There will be problems and there will sure be solutions also. Patience and common sense is the way.

8. Western world is successful because they are open and allow freedom.

Most Love marriage in West has failed badly. How many divorces!! Do not tell me, that there are divorces in India also that women are treated like slaves and et cetera. No way.

The quarrel between the couples comes to end very quickly as they are tied by Holy means of rituals, mantras and traditions, counseling from elders and family members and they stay united and are more happy!!

9. Jokes by Comedians are good.
Vivek and Vadivelu Jokes are obscene with double meanings is understood by the present audience as Comedy. What a shame!! I do not want to mention here the comedies of Nagesh, Chandra babu, M.R. Radha. Sivaji in Bale Pandiya, NSK, Thangavelu, Goop-goop Ramachandran. Sorry if I have missed out any one as I belong to Bombay and settled in Madras in 1970. Oh!! Kadalikka Neramillai by Sridhar!!

Epilogue - Oh! I am not an author, but will be soon.

Divineness is sure there, irrespective of cast, intelligence, religion and nations. But sure, take the help, blessings and love of elders. Youth and Love will always win. And the humans are waiting for a MAN who will solve and bring World Peace. Let us promote that!!

ORIGINAL SIN by Adam is actaully one of my old posts - here

Both of them being South Indian actors. Tamil movie actresses to be more specific.

Jyothika

Jyothika Sadanah (Jyothika or simply Jo)(born 18th October 1978, Bombay, India) is an Indian actress who has acted in several successful South Indian films.

She is daughter of a film producer, Chander Sadanah and Seema Sadanah. She has two sisters who are both actresses, Nandita (Nagma), Radhika (Roshni) and a younger brother Rahul. She is a Hindu.

Her first Tamil movie as a heroine is Poovellam Kaettupaar with Surya and this film gave way to her for a very successful film career in Tamil

Trisha Krishnan

Trisha (born 4th May 1983 as Trisha Krishnan), is one of the upcoming actresses in the Tamil and Telugu film industry.

She first made her debut in films when she was offered a small cameo in the film Jodi. However, the first movie in which she signed up to enact the role of the leading lady was Priyadarshan’s Laysa Laysa. Due to financial difficulties faced by the producer of the film at that period of time, the other film she signed, Mounam Pesiyadhey opposite Surya was released first. Though her initial few movies did not do very well at the box office, her later movies (like Saamy & Ghilli) were successes. She then made her entry into Telugu films through the film Varsham, which earned her many accolades and made one of the leading actresses in Tollywood. She is currently acting in several Tamil and Telugu movies, one of which is Stalin opposite Chiranjeevi.
