Why I can’t buy a solar water heater this winter?

Winter time. Hot water is needed for daily bathing, hand wash and for many purposes.

But I can’t buy one. Its too costly even for the upper middle class.
Solar Water Heater

The starting price is Rs.25,000/- Of course we save electricity, but this is on a long term basis. The government must come forward in subsidizing.

May be the materials used in the solar water heater are expensive. But there must be a way, to produce at an affordable price.

Till such time I will use my normal electric geyser!

Wikipedia, YouTube driven by heavy traffic

The comScore numbers for top global web properties saw Wikipedia and YouTube pick up 12 percent gains in their unique visitors age 15 and up from around the world.

Microsoft sites still lead the pack, with 505 million visitors arriving in September 2006 according to the comScore numbers. If you are wondering what makes Microsoft so heavily visited, a combination of Automatic Updates and Windows Genuine Advantage checks probably have more to do with that traffic than the MSN Butterfly does.

Yahoo sites edged out Google properties in September, but not by a wide margin. 480 million visitors hit Yahoo’s various properties in the midst of that company’s marketing blitz.

Google picked up 467 million visitors to its sites for the month.

Traffic drops into the 200 millions for the next two Internet players. EBay drew 237 million unique visitors to its online marketplace.

Time Warner Network, which includes AOL, grabbed 217 million, which should be of some help to AOL’s dreams of a richly profitable ad-supported/audience driven future.

America uses ‘Karma’ theory of Bhagawad Gita in Harvard & practical business!

A century ago, Max Weber, a celebrated socio-economic thinker of the West said that belief in Karma is the main cause for India and East being backward. According to him Karma is fatal to development itself. Hindus and Buddhists, because of their ancient faulty faiths remained backward.

Now a total somersault by the USA!

Now Americans teach KARMA theory in Harvard and put in practice. They believe Karma is the best theory for overall success in business, job and personal life.

And whatever America says. The world listens.

‘Gita’ and Karma theory is the buzzword in USA. It is the most practical, scientific way for development according Management experts.

International Business Week in its recent issue (Oct 20, 2006) sees the emergence of ‘Karma Capitalism’, that is, capitalism founded on the idea of karma! The magazine defines karma capitalism as a gentler, more emphatic ethos that resonates in the post-Enron and post-technology bubble in the West.

“Big business is embracing Indian philosophy,” says the “Business Week”. Look at what it sees as Indian philosophy. “Phrases from ancient Hindu texts such as the Bhagawad Gita are popping up in management tomes and on web sites of consultants,” it says. And it goes on: “Top business schools have introduced “self-mastery” classes that use Indian methods to help managers boost their leadership skills and find inner peace in lives dominated by work”.

But in India if you mention ‘Gita’ or Karma theory you are labeled as Saffron fundamentalist! And India will not patent ‘Karma’ theory, as it believes in knowledge (wisdom) being given free and attain mastery over mind and body through Patanjali’s Yoga.

‘Sarve Jana Sukino Bhavanyu’ (And that all living things should live in peace, happiness).

And Weber has been proved wrong. The ultimate truth in ‘Gita’ and Karma theory is scientific and will withstand for yugas (billions of centuries) that may come and go

WHat is ‘Karma’ theory of Bhagawad Gita?

Chapter two (and Chapter six) of ‘Bhagwad Gita’ explains ‘Karma’ theory clearly. Lord Krishna explains to Arjuna what is ‘Karma’

Krishna is the Guru, the teacher and Arjuna, the student.

Arjuna asks questions. Krishna answers. It is not possible for me to explain the Karma theory here at this stage. It is a simple logic, but complex to understand and explain to others. And I am not competent.

May be I will forward from Swami Dayanand saraswati’s explanation of ‘YOGA KARMASU KAUSHALAM’ which is the essence of Chapter two and Karma. I will check for copyright or ask Swamiji’s permission. Here Yoga does not mean Patanjali’s Yoga.

Vanity thy name is woman! new law passed for harassment

Lady Macbeth is the best example how a woman behaves and tortures a man.
New law for harassing husbands comes into effect from Thursday, October 26, 2006.

And now a law has been passed to penalize men harassing women (wife or partner!), thanks to Renuka Chaudhry (Is she married and harassed? Or just political stunt?)

Now my points:
1. How many men suffer due to nagging by wife? Is there any law to protect them? (I can give hundred instances from my personal life of friends and relatives)
2. The newly married woman called as ‘Graha Lakshmi’ in theory needs time to adjust to new surroundings ands this is not given – by women folk. The husband is the only one who supports her initially. Later he gets joins others (sister or ‘Nathanar’ in Tamil and ‘Mamiyar or mother-in-law). The problems faced by women are fought by men (e.g. Bharathiar)
3. Why did Lord Ganesha did not marry? He is still waiting under the common ‘Arasa Maram’ (a tree which, if prayed gives birth to a child). The reason is, Lord Ganesha is still waiting for a woman who is lovable as his mother! And still he is waiting.
4. The harassment comes from women and the husband is the most suffering one (Like ‘Mridangam’ he gets hit by both sides). To balance he tries hard but fails. How can he convince mother or wife about their EGO?
5. Why there is so many crowds in Panagal Park? Jewelers, Saris, Status, Comparison are harassment to men!! Contentment in Life is gone. That is the basic problem.
6. There is feminity in men also. And masculine features in women. So there are hen-pecked men! May be the Law wants all men like this?
7. How many women really sit and share office problems with men? They watch TV serials instead!! For example there is a scene from “Chill (or Sill?) Endru Oru Kathal” – The hero Surya submits a good design for a Car. But the Superior calls him a Mechanic and says that he cannot give a good design. He comes home angry. Jothika does not care and share his anger. Listening, understanding and Love solves all problems. Sure Law cannot.
8. There are enough good husbands in this world. Only women spoil them by their Vanity. A woman like Renuka Chaudhry wants to appease women folk to get votes like Arjun Singh in Reservation and Quota.
9. Man by nature is dominating like Bull. Woman is the ‘MAYA’ (explained better in Bhagawad Gita). The Apple story in Bible is not correct. It has been twisted. In fact the very story Man eating Apple is stolen from a simple story in Upanishad.
10. I respect women, and ‘Amman’ traditionally. But the Uma, Parvathi and Saraswathi are all there in theory. Modern woman has many responsibilities other than going to job. And only Love, understanding and care can solve the so-called harassment. Law can give Divorce if needed.
11. The best pediatricians and Gynecologists are women. They understand the sufferings of children and women better. Culture and Tradition will give a solution.
12. Why do women pose for CARS other than Vanity items?
13. Modern films (or old ones by K. Balachander), have no morals. They induce women to go after another man who is good, better and becomes ugly after wards.
14. Security is what a woman wants. And men should not fail in this. And women should be patient and encourage men in their Job or Business.
15. Men are sure physically strong and women intellectually. The BALANCE will solve the problem. Not the Law.
16. Women’s Lib is welcome. But it will have its own problems. Due to women themselves. Not men.

New law for harassing husbands comes into effect from Thursday
Thursday October 26 2006 00:00 IST
NEW DELHI: A new legislation backed by hefty penalties or jail sentences for men who abuse their wives or live-in partners, will come into effect from Thursday.
The Domestic Violence (prevention) Act 2005 is primarily meant to provide protection to the wife or female live-in partner from violence at the hands of the husband or male live-in partner or his relatives.
(Does this include ‘Nathanar’ the sister and ‘Mamiyar’ the mother-in-law?)
Though the Act was passed by the Parliament in August last year, the implementation was pending as detailed consultations were required with the states and other agencies for framing the rules.
(Why not the Male population was not consulted? Who are State and other agencies?)
The legislation was primarily meant to provide protection to the wife or female live-in partner from violence at the hands of the husband or male live-in partner or his relatives. The law also extends its protection to women who are sisters, widows or mothers
(And not brothers and fathers?)
Domestic violence under the act includes actual abuse or threat of abuse whether physical, sexual, verbal, emotional or economic. Harassment by way of dowry would also be covered under this definition.
(Dowry is dead is in practice. It is an act of love by parents and brothers towards a girl going to be married. It cannot be measured monetarily. Domestic violence is there. Women also show their anger by breaking the vessels).
Minister of State for Women and Child Development Renuka Chaudhary said that the new law will go a long way to provide relief to women from domestic violence and get their due. She said that her ministry requested all state governments and Union Territories to ensure that the necessary administrative arrangements are immediately put in place for the implementation of the Act.
(Is Renuka Chaudhry a victim of harassment? Or she does this to gain popularity? Or is it cunning politics?)
The ministry also simultaneously issued another notification laying down the rules framed for the implementation of the Act. These rules provide for appointment of protection officers, service providers and counsellors. Action will be taken in the event of the respondent breaching the protection order passed by the magistrate in favour of the aggrieved woman is also prescribed in these rules.
(Rules and Laws do not protect women. Love and understanding on both sides is the only solution or worse –Divorce)
One of the most important features of the Bill is the woman’s right to secure housing. The Bill provides for the woman’s right to reside in the matrimonial or shared household, whether or not she has any title or rights in the household.
(Oh! This is a joke! How can a woman live with only title deeds and house? Who will protect her against other good or bad men?)
However, apprehensions are afoot over the proper implementation of the new law for protection of women from domestic violence by the centre in view of lack of proper administrative arrangements in the states and lack of awareness among women. (Women are more clever and aware!!
(It is the administration which will create a mess and harass men and abuse men and sure for money!)
