County matches and “Chennai 600 028”
There used to be flood light matches in Chennai, with local teams playing. It was very popular and crowds used to see these matches with more interest. Some how these matches are not to be seen due to some fight between rival teams and police banning such kind of matches in the night.
The actual spirit of the Chennai night cricket matches and the mood has been wonderfully brought back by the film “Chennai 600028”.
Sure some efforts must be put to bring back the joy of watching our local boys playing sensible cricket. (not “My boys” as often said by Ganguly!)
League Cricket is very common in England, called as County matches. It’s like United Manchester or AC Milan in football. The players in the County may be from any country.
A similar approach will be experimented in India by Zee TV with the help of Kapil Dev, Tony Greg, Dean Jones and Kiran More.

Chennai 600028 was a good movie. Not special but watchable.. its good to see a movie without super stars these days…
