What is Freedom and Independency?

The above topic and whatever I may write on this is based on the knowledge gained from books and lectures by Swami Dayanand Sarswathi. Swamini Paramananda of Arsha Vidya Peetam and my discussions with my sister Ms.Sankari who is an ardent devotee and gives lectures on diverse subjects for women and men to lead a peaceful and harmonious life.

Today we feel there is Western influence on our Culture. Is Western culture bad? I cannot agree. I only felt our Vedic culture should be intact in spite of many people going astray due to wealth and success in their lives. So I felt Dharma is slowly losing declining due to Kali Yuga.

But No. It is being revived by great seers like Swami Dayanand and his disciples from India, USA and other parts of the world.

One example is enough to prove the Love the great seers have for us. (Sure they see what will happen and take corrective measures before)

The example:

As a child we all depend on our mother for food and care. And when we as a child start learn to walk catch hold of mother’s hand to take the first step for walking. Then we fall again and the mother comes to help us walk happily.

After sometime we start to walk independently and ignore mother’s hand. In fact we do not like help from others. We want to walk independently.

But we forget the dependent period, which gave us Independency to walk and explore!
So life is a mixture of dependency and Independency. Both compliment each other.

Ultimately every soul is Independent (Not the person who may be male or female).
But it must depend on something (Guru) to get liberated and become Free. This is the Inner Strength of India, which is available for free to the World.

The topic, Swami Dayanand Sarswathi and his disciples have already great and simple plans to impart Knowledge and enlighten us. Let us have an open mind to whichever religion we belong.

Sir Osama Bin Laden – He should reject it. Knighthood to Salman Rushdie

There was a news item in The New Indian Express, Chennai edition, A hardliner Pakistani Parliamentarian demanded Sir title for Osama bin Laden, leader of the famous Al-Queda in retaliation to UK Government offering Knighthood to writer Salman Rushdie.

Now My comments:
We in India consider Sir title given by the British as an insult. Several Indians have rejected it.

Instead we respect Padmabushan, Padmasree, and Bharat Ratna more respectful and gracious.

When will the British Government stop giving SIR to people from other nations?

Do they not realise ‘SUN HAS SET’ on UK?

Sir title is given by the UK to excellence and kindness in a field.

It was given to Sir Garfield Sobers, Sir Donald Bradman, and Sir Vivian Richards from West Indies in Cricket

Sir Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, the ex-President of India.

Do they have to be recognized by the British?

We have our system for excellence in Sports, Bravery, Music, Films, and Dance etc
Titles like Dada Sahib Phalke awards, Padmasree. Padmabushan, Bharat Ratna at National levels.

At State levels we have ‘Kalaimamani’ awards.

So why Sir Osama bin laden?

Sure I wish Osama would never accept that title.
Even if he accepts it is an insult to him and the title

Osama is for a cause. Fighting America.
If Osama is bad, Bush is also bad - Testing his military inventions on Afghanistan and Iraq for political reasons.

So I wish OSAMA rejects the Sir title.

Even if I wish or not he is most self-respected man to reject the Sir;

MORAL: BUSH IS WORSE THAN OSAMA.
LET BUSH BE OFFERED the Sir title.

Then I will ask: Sir Bush: Do You understand World Peace? Or testing latest military developments and ammunitions on innocent people?

And I will ask Sir Osama Bin Laden: Do you wish to achieve World Peace by Jihad?

Sivaji Movie Review

Here is one of the early reviews of the tamil movie Sivaji review

SORUCE: here

Awesome performance by Rajini. Looking younger by decades as though travelled by a time machine, Superstar looks ravishing and has given out a spell binding performance. In his Motta role, he even makes us forget the La ka la ka la ka…… He is an epitome of style and his walks and his mannerisms have been captured in a fan like style by Shankar. Shankar is a master in bringing out social issues through his script and packaging it in a commercial way. The message in the movie and the final slides on the screen as names roll by is something every Indian would dream for. The songs picturisation has always been Shankar’s forte and he proves that again.

Ballelakka has Nayantara looking soooo hot and the scenes are so pleasing to the eyes. Sahara and the glass tower looks ravishing and Shreya is SUPER DUPER HOT in Vaaji Vaaji song. Athiradee and Style song is every RAJINI fan’s dream come true. Wonderful use of CG in both the songs. Shankar or ARR has been so clever in using the Sega Fightaa song — Hats off Rahman’s songs have already stuck on to the top of the charts and would Sure stay on for some more time with the visuals out now. He has done a Wonderful work with the BGM and esp Blaaze proves why he is Rahman’s favorite.

The BGM music which resembles one of the songs is too good to hear. Sujatha’s dialogues is another strength to the movie. Scene where Suman makes fun of Rajini is another gem by Sujatha. Magic with little words and its Sujatha for you.

Heroines in Rajini and Shankar movies have always been mostly for glamour. Here too Shreya fits the bill perfectly and does a fantastic job at that. In addition she does have some scenes to prove her acting and she does a good job. Vivek’s rockbottom career is going to be revived with this movie where he is there with Rajini in most of the scenes. Office Room comedy scenes and La Ka La Ka scenes STAND OUT!! still laughing thinking about them. ….

He even has a couple of punch dialogues Suman has been a revelation in terms of Villain. Speaking fewer words and with no over the board shouting, he has done a wonderful job and looks menacing. The confrontation scenes b/w Rajini and Suman are a highlight of
the movie.

Style song and Adhiradee song graphics are top class (Both are fantasy Songs and they sure have unrealistic sequences which is why you have CG in the first place) Other than that, not much of CG in the movie.

As for the minus points in the movie, there is one scene with Shreya And train which is kinda unbelievable. There are slides which are put as the names roll by and they ought to have been included before that coz some people may miss that.

In Singapore theatre we had atleast 20% of crowd as women and everyone enjoyed the movie thoroughly. Throughout the first half and almost half of second half (not sequentially) it was sprinkled with lots of humour ala Rajini Style. Sivaji — Pera ketta chumma Adhirudhilla……..

Many Difference between ‘Pasam’ ‘Karma’ and “Practice”

Anand writes a nice article here. It was about his friend’s parents not sharing their difficulties. The father was suffering from typhoid. And only after complete cure they inform him. Anand’s article on typhoid had one question at the end
- How many parents do this?

Well not informing is a great thing on the part of the parents – This is Pasam. But Karma philosophy says one should inform about what is happening (that too if it is serious). Finally irrespective of sentiments and religion the parents must have informed.. If the friend has time to spend with Anand, why not parents or he share the sufferings?

In the same context let me add more from Mythology and practical life

The word sacrifice has no meaning in this world. It is all bout doing your duty with love and dedication. In the West children are brought up in a way – they have to live for themselves. And parents also live independently and do not bother or interfere with their children’s’ life.

Only a rare film by Spielberg Catch me If you can starring Tom Hanks and Leonardo portrays some bondage between Father and Son – due to divorce and father becoming a pauper.

Mythology incident:

Gandhari the wife of Drithutharashtra always ties her eyes (though she can see) because her husband is blind (There is a philosophical meaning to this – he is blind inside and attached to his non-dharmic son Duryodhana). Her devotion to husband is unparallel and no mythology has such an incident.

Now comes the so-called Pasam (as in love towards children). When the great Kurukshetra war is to begin, Gandhari calls Duryodhana. She has a boon due to her penance and love for husband, tying her eyes.

She has the power of protecting anyone she sees with her open eyes to give full protection in all ways, so that he will not be defeated by any means in the battle. Not even Bhima who is the only person who can defeat Duryodhana in WWF wrestling like battle.

Here is a mother to save her son asks him to come naked so that her open eyes fall on all parts of body. And Duryodhana is prepared.

But here comes Lord Krishna using his cleverness to defend Dharma. He advices Duryodhana with these words – “ You should be ashamed! How can you go naked before your mother? You are brave and why do you believe in such a proposition?”

So Duryodhana covers his private and lower abdomen and meets Gandhari. She is shocked. She immediately understands Krishna’s play. Anyhow she believes her power and grants full protection for the rest of his body.

And sure Bhima in the final battle as advised by Krishna kills Duryodhana, hitting on the parts not protected.

Real Life Incident:

I know a someone who is a school teacher going on Cycle to school everyday in spite severe back pain. She is the only earning member. She lives with her in-laws who always support their son, who is a drunkard, jobless and always threatens and extracts money from her.

She still lives hiding her problems. Recently she got her daughter married to a good family. Her daughter had so many gynaecological problems and she fought and resolved them.

She has not disclosed this to any one except my friend’s wife. She is always cheerful. She has a very hoarse voice and severe throat problems also. Still she manages to bring 100% marks to the school and many centum for her students. Her method of work is school is immaculate and many teachers respect her. She is a terror among students (imagine that in the present days when student have no respect for teachers).

She has never complained about her in-laws and husband but took care of the children.

The relation between the two incidents depends on the point of view of the reader. Anyways, the point to be stressed in the subjective nature of the words Pasam, Karma and their relation to Practical living.
