News to Amuse: Bihar Police stumped by Rats

The rodents’ love for liquor has the police department in Bihar state stumped as it tries to store hundreds of bottles seized from illegal sellers from across the state in Patna, the state capital, said Kundan Krishnan, a senior officer.

“We are fed up with these drunk rats and cannot explain why they have suddenly turned to consumption of alcohol,” he said.

Rats were also attacking people near the police buildings, nibbling at their toes, although it was not clear if they were under the influence, officials and witnesses said.

Intimidating the players by BCCI challenged in High Court, Delhi

The ICL (Indian Cricket League) positive to help cricket improve in India and the World made a brave decision to move Delhi High Court against BCCI
The lawsuit filed by ICL sought a direction to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to allow ICL to use stadiums across the country for its tournaments.

It said the pensions given by BCCI to former players should not be stopped in the event they join the ICL.

ICL has also sought that BCCI should be restrained from using Indian flag and the Board before the Supreme Court accepted name of the country as it that it was a private body.

Sachin 99 out a bad decision

Bristol is a nice place, one and half hour drive from London. But it proved an unlucky venue for Sachin Tendulkar who made a brilliant 99. But the raised finger of Umpire proved deadly for him once again.

Tendulkar was adjudged caught behind by home umpire Ian Gould although TV replays showed Andrew Flintoff’s awkward bouncer had only touched that part of his left arm inside the arm-guard. He faced 112 balls and hit 15 fours and a six. Tendulkar was denied the joy of adding to his collection of 41 one-day hundreds.

He stood there by the crease, beyond the permissible limits of the cricket laws, staring at the umpire almost as if pleading to reconsider his raised finger.

But with a blistering knock of 92 not out off 63 balls by captain’s knock by Rahul Dravid India made the highest total of 329 against England

England proved equal to the task by almost reaching a once impossible target.

But Munaf Patel and Piyush Chawla claimed three wickets each as India beat England by nine wickets in the second ODI at Bristol on Friday.

Free TVs sold for Rs.2,000 to Rs,4000

Nothing is free in this World. The government of Tamilnadu with good intention is distributing Free Colour Television sets to the poor.

But they sell the free TV to brokers who resell it Kerala market. The price used to be Rs.2,000/- But with the demand the price has increased by the sellers to around Rs.4,000/-

And the Government of Tamilnadu has ordered for more TV sets!

I remember long back this party (DMK) when in power came with a novel idea of building nice flats for the slum dwellers. But the occupants let the flats for rent and occupied the slum again.

There is a saying which says “Even if Lord Siva gives the begger plenty of Gold, he will convert that into a begging vessel”

Chennai Nice New Bus facility and Politics

I traveled by bus from a suburban area to the city. The bus had automatic doors, nice seats and was clean.

Except for the impractical moral slogan written in Tamil with the present CM Karunanidhi’s photo:

Nee Nan Yendral Uthadugal Seradhu. Naam endral Uthadugal Serum.

I was just amused.

If we say Karunanidhi, Kalanidhi and Dayanidi – Our Lips do not join (Udhadugal Seradhu).

But if we say MARAN our lips join (Udhadugal Serum).

So why preach the public when a CM and great party leader cannot adjust with Maran?

Maran endral Udhadugal Serum! Naam Endru Kudumbathilum Kazhagathuilum Illadha akkarai Makkalukku Upadesam Seivadhu Yen?
