Sachin Tendulkar show not enough as Australia dominate at MCG

India collapsed for 196. Yuvraj and Dhoni the Twent-20 kings were out for duck.
Australia finished the second day with 32 for no loss from 8 overs.

And R.P.Singh lost his line and length as Hayden ruthlessly hit him for boundaries.

Sure India is going to lose this match unless Laxman finds an answer and his form against Australia.

Carnatic music season in Chennai

Even if I miss the packed-up programs of Music at various locations and Sabhas, I get it to view at various channels of TV, edited nicely,

I saw one yesterday by Unni Krishnan. When he was asked a question about his visit to Europe he said “The European audience were disciplined and sat glued to their seat for an hour and half with rapt attention and concentration.”

Here in Chennai we can see the audience nodding without knowledge and frequent break-ups to eat junk foods at the stall outside. And when the singer sings a difficult raga there will be discussion of politics and personal affair!

Afterdark screen savers

Phosphor burn etched primitive computer screens.
Dr. Jack Eastman, physicist, geek, mathematician, and software developer extraordinaire, invented the modern-day screensaver in its very first form: Flying Toasters.

Lightning struck quickly.

Thus began the first of screensavers in what’s called the After Dark series. More than eighty screensavers created by Dr. Eastman, Igor Gasowski, and a whole team of developers then adorned computer screens all over the world.

They are now available at Screensavers.com/

I love the Skyscraper backdrop lighting effects with user controlled timing and other changes.

Australia choose to bat at MCG on Boxing Day

Melbourne Cricket Ground is the second next to Lord’s with a record of 114 games played while Sydney is third on 95.

The first game at the MCG was played in 1877, which Australia won by 45 runs, the same margin that decided the Centenary Test. A world record crowd of 90,800 attended the opening day of the 1960-61 game against West Indies in that gripping contest and other magic moments at the stadium include Kim Hughes’ magical century in 1981-82, Bradman’s series turning 270 in 1936-37, and Shane Warne’s 700th wicket 12 months ago.

Australia won the toss today and Ponting chooses to bat first and are going strong with 48 for no loss in 12 overs. They gave targeted R.P.Singh and have started showing it. Today is Boxing Day and this has nothing to do with the Boxing Sport.

Boxing Day is a public holiday celebrated in the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand and Australia and many other members of the Commonwealth of Nations on December 26, the day after Christmas Day.

Boxing Day is a traditional celebration, dating back to the middle ages and consisted of the practice of giving out gifts to employees, the poor, or to people in a lower social class.
The Oxford English Dictionary attributes it to the Christmas box; the verb box meaning: “To give a Christmas-box (colloq.); whence boxing-day.”
