Indian Postal System is the best and cheaper

Britons find the Indian postal system to be cheaper and more reliable than Royal Mail.

The British citizens are queuing up in post offices in India to post Christmas cards to friends and family in Britain.
Royal Mail is losing millions of Christmas cards and parcels.
Very soon postal outsourcing will be available from India.
Indian postal system is excellent and inexpensive.
This Christmas, Royal Mail will deliver two billion items within Britain.

I remember to have written an article in this site ‘Dakiya Dak Laya, meaning’ “The Postman brings cheer when he delivers a post”. It’s a Bollywood film title (?) song starring Rajesh Khanna and the story revolves around a humble Indian postman.

India Australia series Lee and Laxman will shine

Starting tomorrow the four match Test series will be a winter morning delight.

All test matches start at 5 a.m. IST except Perth which starts at 6 am. It has been years since I have witnessed Winter Morning commentary. Decades back I used to tune Radio Australia on 13 meters Short wave for commentary by Tony Cozier and Richie Benaud.

Laxman says ‘If you give them [Australia] an inch, they will walk all over you’. Adam Gilchrist says Australia’s new-look attack, which is spearheaded by Brett Lee, can rattle the experienced India batting line-up

Taare Zameen Par is One flew

After reading the review of Taare Zameen Par, I was amused. I could see “One flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest theme clearly in the film.

Nikumbh is Jack Nicholson. And Ishaan Awasthi, the 8 year old is just one of the patients of the asylum in the Hollywood film.

Why Bollywood recently is always devoid of new ideas? Sure South has more talents and stories to make films that reflect the life of us.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

PLEASE READ IT TILL THE END.
My husband and I had been happily married (most of the time) for five years but hadn’t been blessed with a baby.
I decided to do some serious praying and promised God that if he would give us a child, I would be a perfect mother, love it with all my heart and raise it with His word as my guide.

God answered my prayers and blessed us with a son. The next year God blessed us with another son. The following year, He blessed us with yet another son.

The year after that we were blessed with a daughter. My husband thought we’d been blessed right into poverty. We now had four children, and the oldest was only four years old.

I learned never to ask God for anything unless I meant it. I began reading a few verses of the Bible to the children each day as they lay in their cribs. I was off to a good start. God had entrusted me with four children and I didn’t want to disappoint Him.

I tried to be patient the day the children smashed two dozen eggs on the kitchen floor searching for baby chicks. I tried to be understanding when they started a hotel for homeless frogs in the spare bedroom, although it took me nearly two hours to catch all twenty-three frogs.

When my daughter poured ketchup all over herself and rolled up in a blanket to see how it felt to be a hot dog, I tried to see the humor rather than the mess. In spite of changing over twenty-five thousand diapers, never eating a hot meal and never sleeping for more than thirty minutes at a time, I still thank God daily for my children.

While I couldn’t keep my promise to be a perfect mother - I didn’t even come close. I did keep my promise to raise them in the Word of God. I knew I was missing the mark just a little when I told my daughter we were going to church to worship God, and she wanted to bring a bar of soap along to ‘wash up’ Jesus, too.

Something was lost in the translation when I explained that God gave us everlasting life, and my son thought it was generous of God to give us his ‘last wife.’

My proudest moment came during the children’s Christmas pageant. My daughter was playing Mary, two of my sons were shepherds and my youngest son was a wise man. This was their moment to shine.

My five-year-old shepherd had practiced his line,
‘We found the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes.’
But he was nervous and said,
‘The baby was wrapped in wrinkled clothes.’

My four-year-old ‘Mary’ said,
‘That’s not ‘wrinkled clothes,’ silly. That’s dirty, rotten clothes.’

A wrestling match broke out between Mary and the shepherd and was stopped by an angel, who bent her halo and lost her left wing. I slouched a little lower in my seat when Mary dropped the doll representing Baby Jesus, and it bounced down the aisle crying, ‘Mama-mama.’

Mary grabbed the doll, wrapped it back up and held it tightly as the wise men arrived. My other son stepped forward wearing a bathrobe and a paper crown, knelt at the manger and announced,

‘We are the three wise men, and we are bringing gifts of gold, common sense and fur.’

The congregation dissolved into laughter, and the pageant got a standing ovation.

‘I’ve never enjoyed a Christmas program as much as this one, laughed the pastor, wiping tears from his eyes. ‘For the rest of my life, I’ll never hear the Christmas story without
thinking of gold, common sense and fur.’

‘My children are my pride and my joy and my greatest blessing,’ I said as I dug through my purse for an aspirin.

Jesus had no servants, yet they called Him Master.
Had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher .
Had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer.
Had no army, yet kings feared Him.
He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world.
He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him.
He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today.

Feel honored to serve such a Leader who loves us .
    GOD BLESS US ALL.

Bollywood 2007 Best films

Review Synopsis of some good films and comeback by legends in brief:

Madhuri Dixit makes a comeback in Aaja Nachle. Music by Salim-Suleiman and dance is the essence of the film. Shreya Ghoshal and Sonu Nigam sing ‘Is pal’, written by Piyush Mishra a melody piece and a musical fusion of Indian classical with Western. ‘O re piya’, sung by Rahat Fateh does wonders once again. Sufi-inclined number has the right amount of emotions blending with the soulful music.
Madhuri lends her voice to ‘Soniye mil ja’

In January 2007, Guru, the Mani Ratnam film, starring Abhishek Bachchan and his now wife Aishwarya Rai in a celluloid take of Reliance founder Dhirubhai Ambani’s life.

February saw some critically acclaimed films, starting with Black Friday, which rocked the nation but didn’t do too well commercially.

The year was well into the last week of March when it saw its next big hit, Namastey London. Akshay Kumar continued his bull run at the box office, taking forward his success with last year’s Bhagam Bhag. The film gave Katrina Kaif’s sagging career a fresh lease of life.
Mira Nair’s The Namesake, based on a critically acclaimed book by Jhumpa Lahiri, also released at the same time, winning appreciation at film festivals abroad.

April started with a rare good performance from Aishwarya Rai in Provoked. But the film failed to excite the audiences. A low-key release Bheja Fry stole Provoked’s thunder. The low-budget comedy went on to become a huge success.

June saw the release of Yashraj Films’ second and much-hyped release Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. But Abhishek Bachchan and Bobby Deol could not duplicate the success of the pairing of their fathers Amitabh and Dharmendra.

The second half of the year had a better report card with July seeing the first blockbuster of the year in Partner. The remake of Hitch gave Govinda many films and restored his popularity.

The last day of August, however, saw the downfall of one of Indian cinema’s best directors Ram Gopal Varma

Akshay Kumar returned with Bhool Bhulaiyya, a comedy hit.
Rani Mukerji’s call girl act in Laaga Chunari Mein Daag failed to sell.

Om Shanti Om and Saawariya were discussed a lot.
Om Shanti Om, which had an elaborate marketing plan and was hyped to the extreme, made it big and is on its way to becoming the biggest hit of the year.

Despite all the hype, Saawariya was ruthlessly rejected by both critics and audiences, giving Sanjay Leela Bhansali his first failure at the box office. Black, though not a commercial success was appreciated by critics.

Aamir Khan’s directorial debut with Taare Zameen Par and Akshay Kumar-starrer Welcome are other end-of-the year films.

I would vote for TAARE ZAMEEN PAR. Aamir has the touch.
