The fast life pattern today had made me eat junk foods. But I have become conscious also. And I have been watching my friends and relatives becoming aware of the of the extra fat. They tried lot of diet patterns advised by experts.

Recently they tried 7 day diet plan. It has worked miracles for them. Many of them have lost 2 to 5 kgs in a week. And inspired by this they continue to observe the 7 day diet on a regular pattern. Sure they are not gaining weight and losing on fat.

I like to say to them “Hey you have become slim”. And they are happy.

It is all available on net. Read, understand and lose weight!

Nice Holiday worries of the West

Its been a long time that I shared my thoughts on T J S George, the columnist for New Indian Express, Chennai edition. One of my favourite writers, I read his article first on Sunday editions. He is open, defends India and criticizes or appreciates BJP and Congress when they do wrong or right. A very balanced writer analyzes the problem and gives a solution with his gentleman pen skills.

An article on how the worries of the West are nice came several weeks back.

T J S says:

The attraction of living in advanced countries of the West in Europe or the USA is that even worries are of the nice types.

Holiday worries:
Europeans worry whether their taking longer holidays than Americans is a good thing.
The average holiday entitlement in America is 16 days a year.
Italy 42 days
France 37 days
Germany 35 days and
Britain 28.

Though this good for Europe’s travel industry, it’s not good for the economy where the Americans tower above Europeans.

Pets worries:

Europeans and Americans worry about how to give love and respect to their pet animals. In Europe alone there are 47 million pet cats, 41 million dogs, 35 million birds, 9 million fish and 36 million “others” ranging from pythons to crocodiles. The pet-food industry is worth $9.6 billion.

Some of the pet owners take them to the best restaurants order gourmet specialities and let the cats and the dogs enjoy their meal right there on the table. There are specialised luxury hotels for animals, complete with special menus, swimming pools and trained masseuse.

Tourism worries:
Italy worries big on Venice sinking under the weight of tourists. They want the tourists because tourism is their biggest industry and they don’t want the tourists because they are a callous lot who damage heritage sites.

Tradition worries:
A much bigger problem for Italy is David, the fabulous Michaelangelo sculpture housed now in a fabulous museum in Florence. It’s more than 500 years old and they want to clean it. How to clean is their worry with chemicals or without chemicals; with powder, without powder? Months have passed in acrimony and there is no solution yet.

Dirty worries are even more good in the West T J S says:
A Bishop declares he is a homo sexual.

Our (Indian) worries are dirty worries any way:
Worms in drinking water, Pesticides in colas and Criminals in politics. And no one who is anyone has to pay for his sins. For Veerappans and Defence Fixers, our land is Freedom Land.

Development of China

I always envy China and its hard working people. They had made the World look at them. They had shown to the world, what ever the political, religion or philosophy one nation may have at the top, it’s the policy and hard work of the people that makes the nation a developed one.

But a recent study says China has the 16 cities out of top 20 polluted cities in the World? Does China needs so much speed at the cost of its dear people?

popsci.com a website says:
Linfen, a city in China of more than four million is in the heart of Shanxi, China’s coal-production hub, and has frequently been deemed the most polluted city in the world; citizens suffer from choking clouds of coal dust as well as drinking water polluted with arsenic. But Linfen is not the only city in the country with environmental woes—the World Bank estimates that 16 of the world’s 20 most polluted cities are found in China’s industrial areas.

Google makes News reading a bore

For me News is information about war and peace, sports, death of a great personality, business or new invention, launch of a new product and about my City, State and Nation that is India.

But I find that one must know about US Elections and what is happening in Zimbabwe; whether UPA government will fall or not. OK agreed, I must know about world events and my nation – but then I become an information carrier and a slave of the Reporters. Google has joined the band and had automated this News process. It is really boring to read Google News. The site is: http://news.google.com

My local newspaper is fine.
