Pain in Understanding

I came across a person who is addicted to drugs. I was surprised by his intelligence. But he thinks he only knows that he is using drugs and all others who are his friends and family members do not have any idea. I do not know how he can be cured. Only he has to take his decision to come out of the problem. I am not giving here the details of the drugs he is taking.

The people around him are in pains and they understand him very well. I cannot understand the causes of a person falling addict to drugs or alcohol. It is better not to discuss the pains but only care to make the person Sober. Then He will become the master of his fate with the help of God

Those who fail complain

I was sure that Chennai will win over Mumbai yesterday. Mumbai had to score 181. The opener clicked and it was not amusing to see the new bowler from Chennai bowling 6 full tosses to the settled batsmen. I was so sure that Chennai will win have nothing to complain except the fact that commentators (except Dujohn and other foreign ones) were one sided and I had to mute the TV more often, especially when Gavaskar came. Suresh Raina was back in his form and we have more matches to see him in form.

Silly Sunny

It was during yesterday’s match between Super Kings Chennai and Royal Challengers Bangalore that Gavaskar commented on the unwanted issues between the two states Tamilnadu and Karnataka. All of us in India know that we do not divide Cricket on any state, let alone in IPL. The unwanted issues and state based politics were brought by Sunil Gavaskar. What a childish act by a senior player! While we all support an IPL team based on a player, it is the narrow mind of Gavaskar which brought about those comments. I started muting my TV from there whenever Gavaskar was on commentary.

A right cricketing man would never comment like that. Commenting on two states’ problems of sharing the Cauvery water and other issues. I was enjoying Cricket in the purest sense when this dirty comments made me wonder, whether Gavaskar should be further included in the commentary box at all! He must not have included comments on state politics, when his own state has Sena politics. Well, I do not want to be like him, hence I close the chapter.

Already Ravi Shastri is boring and now Gavaskar has shown his mean mindedness. It is high time commentators were selected by the public who really are above politics!

Green Psychologists

Psychologists say people who buy green goods are less altruistic than those who don’t. I really believe Psychologists, but tend to think otherwise in this aspect. The concept of Green itself is late and cannot turn Earth into a heaven, overnight. I think, those who buy green goods have the moral courage to turn the Earth into a place worth living.

I cannot agree with the following fact:
The boom in organic and environmentally friendly goods is turning modern consumers into self-obsessed hypocrites who use their ethical purchases to justify unethical and amoral behaviour, according to new research. The notion that people are motivated by concerns about Mother Earth appears to have been consigned to the dustbin of history along with the hippy ideals of the 1960s and 1970s. In the modern world people are narcissistic and want payback - and believe that if they earn moral brownie points in the supermarket or by driving a hybrid car they can cash them in elsewhere.

“Because purchasing green products affirms individuals’ values of social responsibility and ethical consciousness, we predict that purchasing green products will establish moral credentials, ironically licensing selfish and morally questionable behavior.” This is not true with all and whatever the psychologists say, I am not bothered. I will atleast fight for Green Earth in my capacity.

The scenario could be described as a moral equivalent to carbon offsetting - the practice of donating to projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gasses immediately before embarking on an activity that generates large carbon emissions.
Meanwhile the father of green campaigners, Sting, was once criticised for hiring a private jet for a flight where he was the only passenger. And his band The Police were labelled the dirtiest in the world because of the amount of pollution created during their reunion tour in 2007-8.

Green does not come by campaigning alone – It comes by living and understanding and however I might say this, it applies to me alone and I cannot force anyone to live Green!

Hot Chennai

Here the climate is very hot and humid. Though the players of Cricket play for money, the climate really kills them. I cannot think of watching them even in a normal room temperature. I put on the Air-c-conditioner and enjoy the game of sweating players!

When I was young, I did not mind the sweat, heat and after effects of the heat. The play itself was thrill and there was no money. I am sure all the players of the IPL have no money on their mind and just play the game. They love to see them on the Newspapers and cameras. But sure when they get money they are happy! Let us enjoy the matches today!
