For me it might be the sweetest thing at present. But the present keeps on changing and I have to decide fast and correct. The sweetest thing is Love and being Calm and Listen to what others say. It is not because I cannot say anything, but the rightness in what others say. The Americans have a way of saying ‘Action First’. But an action comes first from thinking. Here again an American is fast to point out that first Action comes from Thinking! By American, I mean the Western Thinking. I see many Western people showing interest in Yoga and Eastern philosophy and the idea of separating the West and East should not be there. But the idea that came from the West is ‘Work, Money and Practical Life’ and from the East is ‘Work, Live and Spiritual Life’. Here Work has a different meaning in East – Work only to Live up to what a Man needs minimum. Well I cannot develop new words to define and one has to feel the Life of the West or East.
There is a tendency in the East to fall easily into the comfort zone of the West and I find rarely people who do not enjoy the inventions of Science. But I find many Western people falling into the more simpler (and difficult) way of Life of the East. I find that I feel more comfortable to fall into the Western way of Life as I become older, lazier being forced into the modern day. Do I have to be like this to enjoy Life? At heart I feel I do not have to opt for the comfort and I will vote for the Eastern way of Life.

Due to age and personal reasons the climate in Chennai has become hotter. This is October middle and still the climate is hotter and sultry. All the learned men say that the reason is due to the excessive and faulty usage of the Nature. We go on arguing and fighting but do not realize the true danger. With money we can buy many things that will temporarily solve the problem of extreme hot climate, but the real solution lies in our attitude of respecting and listening to the people who know the nature from their heart. There are many things that the elders and scientists warn us about. We do not listen as the results of the damage had not directly affected us so far. Why blame only the politicians and the road makers, while we the people are to be blamed?

After my Kashi trip of which I have to write many things, I had a sudden trip to Trichy during the 3 days holiday including Ramzan yesterday. The trains were all full and I went by bus. I went near Srirangam temple and came back by Vaigai express boarding at Srirangam.
People travel a lot by air and train. My relatives are spread over USA, UK, Australia and other countries. If there is a function in my home they have to travel to attend and enjoy the function. We communicate by phone and e-mail. All of us have difficulty in travelling due to ticket booking and availability. The travel has increased enormously in the past fifteen years and the authorities are providing enough facilities each day. Still age factor, health and the will to travel are not the same in every person. The roads and toll fees are improving and the value of Rupee is going down.

I did not go out yesterday at all and was fuming. There was a power cut in the evening. My friends had called to check up the position of their students in the race for admissions. I was reading.

I am bored by the extreme hot climate in Chennai. I have a lot to read in today’s Newspaper. The Infosys co-founder Nilekani’s plan to have a security card for each citizen of India is not welcome. Though I have to read it fully to understand, at the outset we have many things to plan and spend.

I will have to go out today. In during the entire night there were huge machines making sound of the digging the earth with no announcements made. May be for Railways and soil testing?
I have to attend family get-to-gether, today evening and we will see, what i write today.
