Its going to be festivals and nice weather for this and coming months. The Ganesh Chaturthi, Navarathri, Durga pooja and Diwali are all going to come. While all through the previous years it had been a really fine period, the Power Cuts had made people really not in a celebration mood. The rising Sun may set due to angry and depressed people.
It has been some time I read some Medical Fiction. Recently I read ‘Natural Causes’ by Michael Palmer who is an M.D. His books have been translated into more than 30 languages. He had spent 20 years as a full-time practitioner of internal and emergency medicine, and is now an associate director of the Massachusetts Medical Society’s physician health program. He has written many medical fictions.
The book Natural Causes mainly deals with a Obs/Gyn M.D. Lady doctor who is well versed in Alternative Healing and Modern Medical Methods. The book combines the challenge that Medical Professionals face, Court Drama, Murder, Pre Natal Vitamins, Ayurveda, Acupuncture, Genes, Virus, Malpractice, DIC and Hospital Management.
Sometimes books are more engrossing than a movie. And not to mention the recent Tamil flops. I heard that out of 77 Tamil movies released this year only Subramanyapuram and Dasavatharam had been a commercial hit. The Tamil crowd knows what they want, the minimum being a good story and screenplay.
To enjoy driving and traffic pollution, I have a habit of finding lanes in my area to reach a friend’s place or do sundry shopping. I start early morning on an adventure. Sure I hate walking, with the city garbage stench in the air on the main roads and near the parks.
Recently I dropped my friend in his house in the peak hours of evening traffic. He was surprised when I went through the lanes and reached his house early and without using my horn or listening to the impatient horns of other drivers. He thanked me and said he would use the same route and did not know there was such a lane though he was living in the area for 20 years.
I feel happy in the morning when I venture out if there is no work, just to buy a different newspaper than the one I recieve. I was once even caught by a police at 5 am in the lane for security reasons. I had to explain patiently that my purpose was only to buy a newspaper.
Urban population have become irritable, impatient and insane due to pending appointments, shopping madness and wrong food habits. They have lost the sense of relaxing and the joy of riding. It is high time I get out of the city sans TV, Fast food joints and the blare of the horns. Recently the power cuts has made me superstitious. I must go for a Home with Power and other needs, dependent on Natural resources and alternative energy.
The invention of vaccines and anti-virus was possible due to a simple theory in nature. When a foreign body enters the human physical system, the human body is capable of producing antibodies to protect it against the intruder.
This analogy can be applied to the entry of a person in the family itself as a permanent member. There are good and happy moments when a child is born. It brings great joy to all the family members. Probably this is the only exception when a new member enters a family. Else any new relative, friend by way of marriage or temporary stay is not easily accepted. Lot of expectations are there in sharing the space, work and habits. All problems get solved if there is proper communication and a sense of giving first. A nice family needs some open communication, time for laughter and entertainment. The best of helping a man is just leaving him alone when he is angry or upset!
I am beginning to see a lot of interesting comments in my blog these days. Most of the comments are about:
1. The Annai from Pondy and Love. I am inspired by the incidents and change in Lives that happen in the people’s lives and they share through the language of the Heart.
2. HLL Pureit water filter service. Some feel the services are good, but many complain about poor service backup by HLL. I will write to HLL and get the correct phone numbers in the respective areas within Tamilnadu and India.
3. TATA Nano bookings. Again I will find out and answer your needs.
4. DD old time videos. Naturally you ask for more like ‘Save Trees’. That’s a nice one. One of the visitors has given a link to the old videos to be viewed.
5. Superstar Rajinikanth. This is natural as the fame of Rajini is powerful enough and whatever I write, the fans enjoy about it.
6. Kamala Hassan’s Dasavatharam is a film of this era, with a powerful and intelligent story based on Chaos theory writes a reader of the blog. He has written a lengthy description of the story and compared the Ten avathars of Lord Vishnu with the ten characters done by Kamala Hassan. Kamal is a genius.
Meanwhile I have my personal work and a lot to read. But I need to write. And I watched Dasavatharam. What an intelligent story and acting by Kamal!
