Federer has never won at French Open. And why did he he lose to the 3rd seeded Djokovic from Serbia in Australian Open?
1. May be He is getting Old.
2. May it was not his day.
3. He has some spoiled food the previous night
4. He lost his concentration
5. There was match-fixing
6. His coach failed to motivate Him
But I fail to understand why the fans of Federer do not appreciate how Djokovak played. Like us Indians in Cricket who fail to appreciate the Aussies!
It’s street cricket, now ICL, BCCI and ICI in the order. When will CA learn?
Soccer is to Europe and Cricket for India.
Europe is gripped by soccer fever every year. Kids play soccer in the streets, overweight adults play soccer on pitches in pub teams.
However, what sets Europe apart in soccering terms from the rest of the world is the sheer quality of their leagues which are literally head and shoulders above those from elsewhere around the world.
Let us forget for the moment the cricket and watch this Soccer Comedy video.
Once upon a time Cricket was a Gentleman’s game. Like the crowd in Wimbledon enjoyed Tennis. Then came McEnroe and then the world woke up. They enjoyed the righteousness of John and introduced new laws for line calls.
But in Cricket, exchange of words with opposition player(s) can put him (them) off their usual game. It is an attempt to “psych out” an opponent’. It started with Alan Border, was continued by Steve Waugh and for the sake of winning-only tactics, carried on by Ponting. All the decency, appreciation is lost.
John Mcenroe confined his anger mostly to Umpires and Line calls. But in Cricket planned anger of words is thrown to upset the concentration. John would smash a racket and in a rage, unleash a volley of abuse and anger at the umpire.
John’s famous words: “Everybody loves success, but they hate successful people”
“I’ll let the racket do the talking.”
“If you believe that [Anna Kournikova’s claim that she is a virgin], I’ve never questioned a call in my life.”
“You are the pits of the world! Vultures! Trash!”
“If, in a few months, I’m only number 8 or number 10 in the world, I’ll have to look at what off-the-court work I can do. I will need to do something if I want to be number 1.”
“Now I get docked 10 to 20 per cent (of my appearance fee) if I don’t yell at some people and break at least one racquet.”
Spyker’s new owners intend to change the team’s name to Force India for the 2008 season, it was revealed on Saturday.
Indian businessman Vijay Mallya and Dutch entrepreneur Michiel Mol bought out the Silverstone-based squad earlier this month.
The new title, which is expected to be approved by the FIA next week, reflects Mallya’s previously declared aim of bringing an Indian flavour to the former Jordan team, which has undergone three ownership changes in the past two years.
“Having an Indian-owned Formula One team on the grid was something that was considered completely out of reach before,” Mallya told news agency Reuters. “This reflects the new India and new economic prosperity.”
The team’s new logo is also expected to include the Indian national flag within its design.
For me Formula 1 means Ferrari!
